Poetical Works by Sir Walter Scott


A beautiful edition of Scott’s poetical works with a special inscription: To Colonel W.R. Collins from former Scottish Members of Parliaments.

Collins was a United Party Chief Whip and held Ermelo for the South African Party from 1916 to 1933, then for the United Party until 1938. He lost the Ermelo nomination in 1938. He was part of the fourth cabinet of J.B.M. Hertzog and third cabinet of Jan Smuts as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry (1938 – 1944). 

The inscription was signed by Sir Samuel Chapman, Thomas Johnston, Edward Mitchell, Sir Robert Hamilton, and David Kirkwood.
