A biography which made full use of the Rhodes Papers at Rhodes House Oxford.
Here we find Rhodes laying down some of the foundation of strategies for the empire to enforce its power without it being noticed. The book is well written and detailed but not overly so, with context of previous historic opinions, focused on Rhodes and the decisions he made during his life. He was a man full of irony but more importantly he provided the foundation for the empire to influence the financial and political industries.
